What Are B Cups?
For example, many use red solo cups when glassware won’t work. But red solo cups aren’t created to improve your drinking experience; they are designed to be cheap and hold liquid. And they do that quite well but as craft beer fans we want more.
B Cups are made from dishwasher safe, lightweight, rigid, shatterproof, fully transparent, BPA-free plastic. There’s a lot going on in that description but the bottom line is these cups are high quality and designed with craft beer in mind.
Furthermore, there are four different styles available to ensure the cup you are using will not only hold the beer but also enhance the aroma and flavor of it. Here are the styles available: IPA, Lager, Funk, and Stout.
With these options, there is a B Cup for just about every style or at least close enough to make it work. I drink a wide variety of styles so I’d love to have some of each to ensure I always have the right cup for every situation.
B Cups Review: My Experience Using The IPA Cup
I own a lot of glassware . . . most of it is from my favorite breweries while others are designed for specific beer styles. For example, I’ve had a Spiegelau IPA glass for a number years and it gets used a lot.
While it is a great glass to accentuate an IPA, they are very fragile. The thin glass and unique shape makes it great but also makes it easy to break.
When I got my hand on the B Cups made for IPAs, I was really excited to see how the drinking experience would compare to the Spiegelau glass I’ve used for so many years. And I had to write a B Cups Review to share my experience with you.
The first thing I noticed is that the cups were stacked in the box. Often, craft beer glassware doesn’t stack which isn’t the end of the world but I’d need much less cabinet space if more of my glasses could stack. So this is a big deal to me and I know others will appreciate this too.
The weight of the cup is very light; as you’d probably expect from plastic. However, the low weight doesn’t make the cup feel cheap. It will flex but it doesn’t give very easily. The cup definitely feels high quality.
I didn’t waste much time getting a beer into the B Cup. Pouring the beer into this glass is much like what I’d expect as the shape of the cup agitates the beer and creates a really nice head. There is no denying that proper glassware improves the appearance of a beer and B Cups is no exception to this rule.
Should You Buy B Cups?
From the weight to the feel, there’s no denying that this is a plastic cup and not glass. But that’s ok because they allow a better drinking experience than other plastic options. B Cups are available for $20 per four pack. I feel like the price is really good but I’d love to see a four pack that includes one of each of the four styles.
If you find yourself drinking outside often, these are for you. Bring them camping, tailgating, or to the next beer release line share. They are a great option to throw into your luggage when traveling or when you have visitors that you are afraid might break your good glassware.

Final Thoughts
I couldn’t end this B Cups review without giving a huge shout out to the team at Tap The Craft. They are an educational craft beer podcast that you’ve got to check out. I won my set of four IPA B Cups from this podcast by entering a contest.
And they are giving away another set so make sure that you check out the link above and subscribe to their podcast then listen to learn how to enter. Not only will you have a chance to win but you’ll also get to hear some great beer talk from the Tap The Craft team.
While my IPA B Cups won’t completely replace my glassware, they will be used often. Whether it is grilling out or participating in a beer share, there are plenty of times when a durable, plastic cup is the best choice for enjoying craft beer.
